How to Configure the Default Page in Magento 2

How are you all doing? In this article, I will help you to learn How to Configure the Default Page in Magento 2. Also, go through our previous blog where I have discussed How to Add Static Block to Category Page in Magento 2. Let’s get started with today’s blog article.

Quick Intro:

Basically, every online store’s default page can be accessible with the help of the store’s base URL. When any user visits your store then directly the default page is displayed than any other page on your website. Mainly, when an error such as “Page Not Found” comes then the default page will be displayed. One can also keep the homepage as the default page.

Steps to Configure the Default Page in Magento 2:

Step 1: Navigate to Stores>Configuration and choose WEB below the General option.

Explore the Default Pages tab and proceed with the below configurations:

Default Web URL: Add default value cms or add other value as per your requirement.

CMS Home Page: Admin have to choose the page you require to become your home page, you should choose “Home Page”

Default No-route URL: Admin can set the default value and that is “cms/index/noRoute” or you can add as per your requirement.

CMS No Route Page: Choose 404 Page Not Found value to display CMS page when error 404 pages not found error is displayed.  

CMS No Cookies Page: Admin needs to choose the Enable Cookies from the dropdown for displaying CMS Page when the cookies are not enabled in the browser.

Show Breadcrumbs for CMS Pages: Admin need to select YES if they require to display breadcrumb trail at the top of all CMS pages.

Step 2: After the configuration, tap the Save Config button.
