In this article, I will help you with Steps to Set Up Your Instagram Shop. You can also check our previously published article where I have explained How to Get Instagram Feed Access Token -Step by Step Guide. Let’s get started.

Steps to Set Up Your Instagram Shop:

1.Eligibility to set up the Instagram shop

Firstly we will have to meet or check the eligibility to set up the Instagram shop. The Instagram shop does not allow to sell any type of services only physical products are allowed to sell on Instagram but you can make money on instagram. As well as your products must meet Instagram’s commerce policies.

Secondly, you must verify that your business is located in the region/country where this feature is available. For verifying the list of the countries you can check out Instagram’s Shop Business Page.

Also, check that you have the latest Instagram version installed to utilize the Instagram Shop feature.

For checking this you must review the small shopping bag icons on your Instagram posts as per the below screenshot.

If you are not able to view this type of icon then update your Instagram app to the latest version.

After this, you should have the business profile of Instagram to get started with Instagram Shop.

You can generate an attractive name for your Instagram shop using a business name generator.

2. Convert Instagram into a business profile

For converting your Instagram profile into an Instagram business profile follow the below-given steps:

Basically, you can convert your Instagram profile into a business profile in just a few steps.

  • Navigate to Instagram settings
  • Click on Switch to Business Profile.

3. Link Facebook business page

You also have to link your Facebook business page to your Instagram business profile, so

  • Navigate to Instagram’s settings and click on linked accounts
  • Link your Facebook Business page.

4. Add your Product Catalog to your Facebook Shop:

Firstly, understand that Instagram Shops get all the products details from your Facebook shops

Therefore, we have linked our Facebook Business Page to our Instagram account so now we just require you to create a Facebook shop and sync all your product catalog into it.

With the help of this step, you are also capable of promoting your products on the Facebook platform.

5. Upload the product catalog:

You have 2 methods to connect your product catalog to your Instagram business account

Catalog Manager: We have to do it on our own using the Facebook Business Manager.

E-commerce Platform Partner: Integrate via certified e-commerce platform partners like the BigCommerce platform or Shopify.

6. Submit Account For Approval:

After connecting your product catalog to your Instagram submit your account for approval. Basically account approval takes a few days.

  • Navigate to settings in your business’s Instagram profile
  • Sign up for shopping,

Implement the above steps to submit your Instagram shop account for approval.

You can check the status from the settings section in the shopping panel.

Many businesses get notifications to include their additional details for proving the ownership of the specific website domain. To verify the domain follow this domain verification in Business Manager steps to verify your domain.

7. Start Tagging Your Products in Posts and Stories:

After your account is approved you can utilize all the shopping features

To tag products in your post you need to add photos and add captions.

  • Navigate to Add Photo
  • After this add the caption as per your desire to the photo
  • Click on tag products
