How to Configure Customer Account Scope in Magento 2

Hello Magento Friends,

This article will teach how to Configure Customer Account Scope in Magento 2.

When a customer trusts you, they create an account on your website for easy checkout. You can guide customers on How to Create Customer Account in Magento 2.

Admin can set the scope of the customer account as limited to a particular website or for all websites. If the customer account scope is only for a particular website, the customer needs to create separate accounts for all websites. If the customer account scope is set to global, the customer can use the same account for all websites.

Let’s see How to Configure Customer Account Scope in Magento 2.

Steps to Configure Customer Account Scope in Magento 2:

Step 1: Firstly, log in to your Magento 2 Admin Panel.

Step 2: Now move to the below path

Stores > Settings > Configuration

Step 3: Now enlarge the CUSTOMERS tab from the left panel and select Customer Configuration.

Step 4: Now expand the Account Sharing Options tab.

  • Share Customer Accounts: Select the sharing method of the customer account. Global will share the customer information to all websites while per website will share the customer information to the website where the account was created.

Step 5: At the end click the Save Config button to set the Customer Account Scope in Magento 2.
