Hello Magento Folks,

Welcome to Magento 2 Tutorial blog. In this tutorial article, I will explain How to Import and Export Customers in Magento 2. Also, check out our previously published blog where I have explained How to Create Virtual Product Programmatically in Magento 2

Mostly for all the online store owners the customer details management is one of the most critical tasks for managing all the orders and improving the marketing strategy of their store.

In case you are transforming your business online then you will need to import all your regular customer’s data to your store. For this Magento provides an option to import the data by uploading the CSV file to your store.

Similarly, if you need to check the list of your store or you require a new customer list then you can simply export it in the form of an excel file from your Magento 2 store. For this let’s learn How to Import and Export Customers in Magento 2.

Steps to Import and Export Customers in Magento 2:

Export Customers in Magento 2:

Goto System > Data Transfer > Export and below the Export settings choose Customers Main File in Entity Type

By default format of the Export File is in CSV.

From the Entity Attribute, click on choose the attribute which you desired to eliminate from the CSV file that you are going to export.

And tap on the Continue Button.

You will get your CSV file that includes all your customer information.

Import Customers in Magento 2:

Firstly, go to System > Data Transfer > Import from the admin panel sidebar and below the entity type choose the Customer Main File.

In the behavior choose the Add/Update Complex Data option

Navigate to Select File to Import and upload your file.

And tap to Check Data.

That’s It.

Wrapping Up:

Expectedly all are able to export and import customer data using the above illustration. In case of issues you come across during the implementation then let me know in the comment section below.
