What’s the difference between Allowed Countries, EU Countries, and Top Destinations in Magento?

What the difference between Allowed Countries EU Countries Top Destinations in Magento

Hello to Magento lovers,

Have you ever wondered why Magento has provided so much country options built-in? While setting up your store configuration, you probably have seen these countries options but never used it. Here is how you use those configurations.

Allowed Countries:

Using this option you will have to make a selection of countries in which you sell your products. Generally, this option will be helpful when you are selling or shipping your products to a limited geographical area. Only the countries that you have selected from the backend will able to place an order.

EU Countries:

There is one more option if you have noticed which is “European Union Countries”, it allows you to select EU countries.

Because these EU countries have different tax rules i.e. VAT, you can select such countries where you are selling your products.

Top Destinations:

There is one more interesting feature of Magento. For example, as you can see below I have selected India, UAE, UK, and USA as top destinations countries from my backend configuration.

Now, let’s take a look in-store Frontend, what happens?

I think you definitely got the idea of what we are talking about and how this top destination feature works.

These features help you to display handpicked countries at the top of the list. So if you have such countries from where you can get so many customers, frequent sales, you can select those countries and set as top destination countries so it appears at the top of the list. Doing this will help you to save time and efforts of your frequent customers and it improves your store shopping experience.

That’s it. Asking the Certified Magento Expert or Choosing the right Magento Development Company will always help you in a pocket-friendly way.
